An order of 20 thousand tons of steel plates will continue on the 1st. Next exports will be to Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States.
The Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecem (CSP) started on Tuesday (26) the shipment of its first commercial steel plate to the Port of Pecem, from where it will be exported. The operation of the order of 20 thousand tons in steel plates will continue on Monday (1st).
The shipping of the material marks the beginning of the activities of the first integrated steel mill in the Northeast of Brazil.
The transport of the plates will take place through the highway CE-155, by means of 16 truck carts. The shipping at Porto do Pecem, with destination to Turkey and Italy, will be done until the end of the first half of August.
With dimensions between 220mm and 11,800mm, the first steel plates from CSP for export will be used in the hot rolling process. The next exports, with dates to be defined, will be for Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. The second order will meet a request from the South Korean company Posco.
CSP will produce steel plates for the generation of rolled products for the naval, oil and gas, automotive, and construction industries. All production, which so far adds 68,000 tonnes of steel slabs, will be targeted at Vale, Dongkuk, and Posco partners, who will define the types of steel and the quantity they need.
